United Way Receives Stimulus Funds
|
|
The United Way of Ashtaubula County was the recipient of nearly $44,000 in federal stimulus funds and those funds have been distributed to ten local charities that provide the basics of food and shelter for Ashtabula County residents in need. The United Way receives funds from the Federal Emergency Food and Shelter Program every year but the stimulus fund award was a special grant that increased the regular annual award by more than forty percent. The charities receiving the EFSP stimulus funds were American Red Cross ($5,000), Ashtabula Dream Center ($1,000), Catholic Charities ($7,000), Community Action ($7,000),

Ashtabula Foundation Supports United Way
|
|
The Trustees of The Ashtabula Foundation have provided our United Way with a very generous grant of $75,000 for our 2009 / 2010 fund raising campaign. Their support has always been vital to our ability to provide funding to our partner agencies and it is especially important during this time when other donations have declined. The Ashtabula Foundation, like all foundations, has experienced a reduction in some of its assets because of the stock market decline so we are particularly grateful for their support this year.
